Paradas Romero upset Real Madrid so much with his performance in the mid-week match at Villarreal that the club imposed a "law of silence", refusing to attend the post-match press conference and subsequent public appearances. Paradas sent off three Madrid players as well as showing red cards to Mourinho and physical trainer Rui Faria (see "Villains" section for more), and Mourinho reportedly told his players that if anybody did want to make a statement to the press, they should forcibly complain about the referee. Prudently they all decided to keep their silence. They shouldn't have been too upset though as Paradas turned down two first half penalty appeals by the locals, both for tugs on players shirts by Arbeloa. It remains to be seen when they decide to return to the news room! (23.03.12)
