Villarreal coach Miguel Angel Lotina reported what he considered to be some "strange goings on" as the season played out a dramatic last ninety minutes which saw the "Yellow Submarine" go down in the last couple of minutes of the last day. It was certainly unusual that José Antonio Teixeira Vitienes left Getafe with eight men in one of the key games against Zaragoza, decisions which certainly helped the Maños to win the game and save themselves (the ten yellow cards and four reds that Teixeira produced actually takes him above Paradas Romero to win our "White Stick" award this season). And it was not like Undiano Mallenco to miss the fact that Tamudo's last minute life-saver against Granada was from an albeit tight offside position. However the decisions that were made didn't seem to be too incorrect, and we just put it down to the fortunes of the game. Lotina can be forgiven for being a bit distraught about all of that though, as it was a carbon copy of what happened last season when he was in charge at Deportivo! With luck like that, teams will think twice about taking him on to save them in the future! (26.05.12)
