Del Cerro Grande was in the centre of the spotlight this weekend when he sent off Barcelona’s Mascherano for what his linesman reported as an insult against his mother (see “Villains” section for more). Whether it was aimed at him at all, and whether it was his mother or his sister he was referring to, is up to the appeals committee to decide though. De Cerro also didn’t spot that Sandro was in an offside position when he set up Luis Suárez’s equalizer against Eibar, but he didn’t see a fairly clear penalty by Capa on Neymar as well, so it all works out evens in the end!
