Estrada Fernández was in the spot-light this weekend when he refereed the Madrid derby on Sunday, but he decided to play it safe, turning down several penalty claims, mainly by Real Madrid players. The game ended 1-1, and Madrid stay four points behind Atlético in the table. Elsewhere not a lot to report, although Gil mMnzano did upset Espanyol by ruling out an early strike by Gerard Moreno at Valencia for a very borderline offside, as well as turning down a late penalty appeal by Marc Nanvarro which could have saved a point for the Catalans.
