There was a bit of a set-back for Oblak in his quest to be La Liga’s all-time best ever “Zamora” after Sporting Gijón scored two against him on Saturday, a feat only Barcelona have managed to achieve (twice) this season. With eight games remaining he has to let in three or less to beat the current record, set by Deportivo’s Liaño in the 1993-94 campaign. Elsewhere only four keepers managed clean sheets, Javi Varas (Las Palmas), Ochoa (Málaga), Sergio Alvarez (Celta) and Keylor Navas (Real Madrid). There were also four goalkeeping changes, with Villarreal’s Sergio Asenjo making his first league appearance of the season in place of the injured Areola after a long injury lay-off himself, Mat Ryan returning at Valencia with Diego Alves carrying a knock, Jesús making his debut for Granada in place of the suspended Andrés, and Rayo’s Juan Carlos preferred once again by Paco Jémez instead of Yoel.
