Goalkeepers came out on top this weekend (Granada’s Ochoa excepted!) after the pasting they took last week, with no less than eleven clean sheets! Eight of those came in a record four goal-less draws, in chronological order Adán (Betis), Lux (Deportivo), Serantes (Leganés - our new leader!), Oblak (Atlético), Pacheco (Alavés), Cuéllar (Sporting), Sergio Asenjo (Villarreal) and Sergio Rico (Sevilla). And Riesgo (Eibar), Rulli (Real Sociedad) and Ter Stegen (Barcelona) also kept their goals against columns to zero as their respective sides won. Ter Stegen replaced ex Zamora prize-winner Claudio Bravo, who as you all probably know has accepted an offer to join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, and he has been replaced by Cillessen from Ajax. There is now a two break for international games, which gives us all a chance to get our breath back! (29.08.16)
