Straight in to week six after the midweek round of league games, with another five clean sheets for our men between the sticks. One of those was of course Oblak, who is looking to beat his own record which he set last season, and elsewhere Adán (Betis), Riesgo (Eibar), Ter Stegen (Barcelona) and Sergio Alvarez (Celta) also kept their goals against columns to zero in victories for their respective sides. Two changes mid-match this weekend, Osasuna’s Spanish under 19 international Alvaro Fernández having to take over from the injured Mario at half time in the match at Villarreal (second choice keeper Nauzet was also out injured), and Sevilla’s Iborra becoming the first outfielder to feature in goal this season after Sirigu got himself sent off in Bilbao with all three substitutions made. Sirigu himself was back in place of Sergio Rico as Sampaoli continues to rotate his players. Finally a mention for Valencia’s Diego Alves, who set a new Spanish record when he made the seventeenth penalty save of his career. His stop helped his side to a 1-2 victory at Leganés. (27.09.16)
