Only eight games this weekend after the fixtures in Vigo and La Coruña were called off due to bad weather, but there was still room for seven clean sheets from our men between the sticks. One of those was for a leader Sergio Asenjo, who put in a top class performance (including a penalty save) for Villarreal against Sergio Rico’s Sevilla, and elsewhere Diego López (Espanyol), Ter Stegen (Barcelona), Moyà (Atlético), Yoel (Eibar) and Ochoa (Granada) all kept their goals against columns to zero as their respective teams all won. In Granada’s case it was only their second victory of the season, and they move off the bottom of the table above Osasuna, who lost 3-2 at Real Sociedad despite including new loan-signing Sirigu in their starting line-up.
